Comprehension is the capacity of the mind to perceive and understand; power to grasp ideas; ability to know. Understanding the meaning of a word in a passage enhances the ability to grasp and retain the passage. Proper understanding promotes correct thinking which enables right actions. Psalm 96 encourages singing unto the Lord. Singing promotes memorization. It engages the heart in delightful thought. Someone has said you cannot be sad while you sing. A song enables a pep in your step and a lifting of your heart. May this month (August 2021) you enjoy some words from hymns of centuries gone by. They are treasures and provide much encouragement in our 21st Century living.

The Freedom of Grace is the athem of the Christian pilgrimage. Charles H. Spurgeon is credited with the authorship of a book entitled All of Grace. In July 2021 as we celebrate the Freedom we celebrate in the US, we feature excerpts from this book. We celebrate The Freedom of Grace found in Christ Jesus our Lord. Be encouraged in the grace of God in saving sinners.

The way God has communicated to His creation is through His Word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Due to the great value of God’s Word, it is worth our time and attention. In the month of June 2021, our focus is The Word of God. We’ll be meditating daily on the value of God’s Word through the theme Praise – Pray – Proclaim.

The loyalty of the Lord is a character trait on which to meditate. When we hear, think about, and realize the great faithfulness of God our hearts will be encouraged. Each day in the Month of May 2021 a scripture of faithfulness is shared to grow your confidence and hope in God.

April 4, 2021 is the day we celebrate Easter. We begin our Resurrection Power Thoughts for this month with a quote from Jim Elliot. We continue with scriptures related to the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The remainder of the month, we have scriptures encouraging the Believer of the power of the resurrection of Christ. Be encouraged, life is worth living because He is risen!

The book of Psalms is a hymnbook of Praise to God. Let your eyes look up and your hearts raise up as you consider the many facets of God. We are instructed to worship God. These powerful thoughts provide insight into the character, nature, and workings of God in creation and on your behalf. Select and study a Psalm presented. Begin the habitual pattern of worship.

In the month of December we think about gifts a substantial amount. We think about what to get others, what we’d like to have, and what the other person would like to receive. God has been giving us gifts since before the foundation of the world. The world itself is His gift to us. In the month of December we will be exploring the Gracious Gifts God has given us.

The Month of February gives us opportunity to think about love. It is the month we celebrate Valentine’s Day. This is known as the month of love. Without God, there would be no love. God is love. Love came from God. In February, we celebrate God and His love.

The Month of March provides opportunity for 31 days of focused prayer. These daily thoughts will contain verses that remind us how to pray, when to pray, what to pray, where to pray, and to whom we pray. Use the month of March to commit to more intimate prayer.

In the Month of January, as we begin a new year, we will train our mind to be spiritually minded. We share what it means to be spiritually minded, how to be spiritually minded, and ways to carry out spiritually mindedness daily. Our lives will be filled with life and peace as we focus on thinking with spiritual mindedness.
