What are you chasing in life? What gets your attention, time, and energy? What are the principles you go after?
If you took an inventory of your pursuits this week, how would they be categorized? Would the chase show you are going after a bigger self-image, a larger bank account, a more spectacular position? Would the race show you to be looking for ways you can glean more knowledge of the grace of God, attempt to please God more, take a closer interest in Christ and the things of the Lord?
Romans 8:5-6 tells us a person who is chasing how their flesh can be increased, better, and promoted will end up dead. These individuals are on the road to destruction, misery, and pain. However, the individuals who are chasing the influence, work, and movement of the Spirit are in line to capture eternal life and peace (wholeness).
Where are you in your pursuits? Are you a person who has the grace of God in full view. Do you have an aim in life to please the Lord in everything you do and say? Are you interested in the Son of God who loved you and gave Himself for you?
Those who belong to Christ Jesus, pursue grace, pleasing God, and hold an interest in Christ, get life and peace. Decide today to no longer chase the betterment of yourself. Instead, seek the eternal life and wholeness promised to you when you chase the Spirit of God.
Set the Lord always before you. Think in your heart of the grace of God, entertain principles of pleasing God, and often consider the interest you have in Christ. These three pursuits will put you in line for eternal life and peace.
