5 Ways To Not Go Down In The Fight

Have you ever had anyone to “snap” at you? The person tried to get the “upper hand” with you by using their words and/or actions. Maybe it was a relative, co-worker, boss, neighbor, spouse, or someone you don’t know who cuts you off in traffic. The Bible gives the prescription for the proper response. Even though it looks like you are “fighting” a person, your fight is “not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.Ephesians 6:12

The struggle is real. The opponent is fierce. Though you may feel overpowered, there is hope. You do not have to be overrun, outwitted, or suffer ongoing oppression. The key is to stand . . and not just to stand but to stand FIRM. That is to stand confident despite the attack you feel will take you down.

There are some actions you can take to overcome the tormentor. These actions are found stated in Psalm 57. Doing these 5 things will enable you to stand confident in the midst of adversity. Your strength will not be because of your ability to stand. Your power to overcome is not in your own doing. As you will see, the battle belongs to the Lord. This “snap” from the enemy coming to you in the form of an individual has a source that originates from the workings of the evil one.

These 5 actions can be taken to keep you standing, steadfast, and strong until the torment of the enemy is over. The storm that threatens to take you down, will pass and you will find that you were not defeated in the fight.

  • Pray for God’s favor to be present in your life.
  • Publish God all around you (your attitudes, thoughts, words, actions).
  • Proclaim God is the Most High-knowing nothing is bigger than Him.
  • Pronounce God’s mercy (to you) and truth (about Himself) will defeat your enemy.
  • Promote God by confidently praising Him.

Let your heart (inner man) be standing strong. Choose praise over defeat. Awaken praise to burst forth from within. Thank the Lord for His tremendous grace, mercy, and lovingkindness. Picture the extent of His truth reaching to the clouds. When you are experiencing the “struggle” walk outside with your bare feet in the green grass, look up gazing as far as you can see. Compute how much space is between you and the reach of a cloud or the heavens. Whatever the outcome, that is the measure of God’s mercy and truth.

It is only when you have the right perspective of God, that you can have the right perspective of your enemies and know the people who “snap” at you, are in a fight that began in the heavenly places a long time ago. . . and God has been declared the winner. Pray, Publish, Proclaim, Pronounce, and Promote God is the winner. He is the Most High God, LORD of all.

Confidently say with the Scripture . . . (Psalm 57:7-11)

My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.
Awake, my glory!
Awake, lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn.
I will praise You, O Lord,
among the peoples;
I will sing to You among the nations.
For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.

This is how you don’t go down in the fight.
